Overview of the Course
Module 1: Overview of the Three Phases of Blended Learning
Module 1 will start with the three key elements to constructing a blended learning environment. The essential keys include having a vision, use of time, and generating a support system. Developing a concept of blended learning comprises understanding the definition of blended learning and taking time to redesign the learning environment. Use of time explores how to get started and generating a Phase 1 lesson plan. Finally, setting up a support system through the online community, Twitter, or with onsite colleagues helps to round out the vital essential parts of starting blended learning.
Module 2 will explore how to develop and deploy a Phase One lesson plan. By breaking apart a traditional lesson plan into four areas, the educator will be able to use a Phase One lesson plan within any classroom setting
Virtual Mini-Lesson with the facilitator - explore the four parts of a blended learning lesson. Examine example Phase One lesson plans in elementary, middle, and high school learning environments.
Module 3 will examine the importance of developing a growth mindset within the learning environment as the classroom moves to a Phase Two learning environment. In this module, the participants will learn about data folders, differentiated checklist, a deployment plan, and the critical elements to Phase Two.
Module 4 will examine in-depth how to implement student-generated checklist within the classroom to allow students to work at his/her own pace and to take ownership of their learning. The teacher will also develop and deploy a Phase Three checklist that includes a Project-Based Learning option.
Module 5 will showcase how to generate buy-in of the Three Phases fo Blended Learning process with students, parents, and work colleagues. This module will provide strategies, talking points, and sample data points from classrooms that have successfully deployed the program
