Week 2 Project

Now that you have spent time exploring the first stage of blended learning it is time to move onto Phase 2.  In Phase 1, the teacher was just learning how to break a part a lesson into three or four stations.
Phase 1 Overview:
  • Teacher provides the same content to a small groups of students.
  • Digital content is used to help learn the concepts
  • Independent activities are the same for all students
  • Future Ready Skills (Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Connectedness) are the same activities for all students in the classroom
  • Teacher uses a time to rotate students from one station to the next station
To transition teachers to the next phase, we start by taking away the timer.  By removing the time, we allow for pace within the classroom setting.  We also focus on using data to drive instruction.  The students are learning at their own level and ability.  Differentiated Instruction is a must in Phase 2.

Be prepared as a coach to spend the most time with teachers in this Phase.  It is very difficult for some teacher to Differentiated Instruction for all students.
