Chapter Requirements 

Welcome to the Digital Content Studio for Chapter Four.  The digital content studio will cover the key aspects of Phase Three as well as showcasing project based learning, the SAMR model, progression boards, and a deployment plan for Phase Three.   Note that this week you must complete at least two lessons.  Remember you can work at your own Pace, Place, and Path.  Use the color code to help differentiate the learning to meet your individual needs. Video One: Ten Elements of PHase Three 

Learn about the ten elements of Phase Three.  The ten elements include, data, planning, student engagement, and technology integration.  After watching the video, write out your reflection in the blended learning packet. 

Video Two: Progression Boards and Checkins

Progression Boards and checkins are a key aspect to Phase Three.  In this video, I will showcase a sample progression boards and how to design a board to help monitor the progress of the blended learning classroom.  After watching the video, write out your reflection in the blended learning packet.​

Video Three: Project Based Learning  

In this short video, you will learn how to deploy a Project Based Learning project in a Phase Three Blended Learning Classroom.  The video will talk about how to create a checklist that allows for time for the students to work on the project as well as how to continue to teach mini-lessons, tie in digital content, and independent studios that relate to the project based learning options.  The resources and guides for this video are located next to the video.   After watching the video, write out your reflection in the blended learning packet.​

Video Four: Passion Project

Finding a way to power students in the learning process could start with finding the passion of the students.  Passion Projects, Expert Hour, 20% Time, and mini projects are one way for the students demonstrate their learning process through the design process.  For this activity follow the directions below and start to think about your passions. 
Directions: 
  • Watch the video on Caine's Arcade
  • Write down three ways that you could use the Arcade idea in the classroom setting
  • Next, jot down you passions.  Do you like to cook, draw, garden, travel? 
  • Can you connect your passion to the learning standards? If so, how? 

Video five: Deployment Plan for Phase Three

Moving to Phase Three within the first year should happen around March and April. In this short video, we will showcase the reason why to wait until later in the school year as well as the steps needed to get to Phase Three. After watching the video, write out your reflection in the blended learning packet.​
